  1. Me&Porscha,

Think that the answer is $15.75.

Because, We started off with $1.50, then multiplied it by 7 which equalled $10.50, next we halved that which was $5.25, lastly we multiplied it by 3, which all added up to 15.75

    1. I like how you started at the end of the problem and worked on from there. Can you tell me what you added together to get 15.75?

  2. Jaylee, Hueloata and I think that the answer is $33 dollars because

First we times billy's money ($1.50) by 7 to see how much Lucy has and came up with the answer $10.50. So then we halved $10.50 to make Tom's money which is $5.25. Then after that we times $5.25 by 3 and came up with the answer $15.75. Then we added all the money together and came up with the answer $33.

  3. Sam, Xavier and I think that the answer is $ 37.50 dollars because,

We know that Billy has $1.50 and it says to times Billy's money by seven to see how much money Lucy has in total. So Sam, Xavier and I came up with the answer that, $1.50 times 7 is 12.50. Then it says that Tom has half of what Lucy has. Like I said before the total money Lucy has is $12.50 so half of $12.50 is $6.50 and $6.50 is what Tom has in total.

    Serena and Alexandria

We thought that we should start by using timetables. First we timed $ 1.50 and 7 to find out how much money lucy has.Which is $ 10.50.Then we halfed 10.50 to see how much money tom has, which is $ 5.50. Then we timed $ 5.50 with 3 because Maddie has 3 times as much as tom. Also Maddie has $ 16.50 Then we had to add it all up.And the total all up is $32.50.

    1. Nice effort girls! $5.50 X 3 = $16.50, but are you able to explain how half of $10.50 is $5.50?

    2. Alexandria's reply on this comment

Because half of $10 is $5.So we thought that it was 5.50, now that I see it I was wrong it's 5.25.Because half of 50c. Which is 25c.

  5. Mateo,Tana,Niuma, and I think that we should start by times table so $1.50 times 7 equals $10.50 some that means maddie has got $30.00

Cheyanne, Faaao and I think that the answer is $33.00. First we multiplied $1.50 by 7, and that was $10.50. Next we halved $10.50 which equaled $5.25. Then we timed it by 3 which equalled $15.75. After we added it all up and it came to a total of $33.00.
